Who We Are

Our Mission Statement

Out of a desire to honor Scripture, we seek to make disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20) in the United States of America, and to establish free and living congregations therein.

What is Home Missions?

AFLC Home Missions is the church planting movement of the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations within the United States. It is built upon the Word God transforming the lives of ordinary men and women, children, teenagers, young families, and retirees.Your browser may not support display of this image. AFLC Home Missions, like World Missions, is intent on making Disciples for the Lord Jesus Christ. Home Missions’ unique focus, however, is on establishing brand new congregations within the 50 United States.

Home Missions is active in the training and equipping of pastors and laity for new ministry works, providing direction, counsel, training, support personnel, and most importantly-prayer covering. We find our example in the Apostle Paul’s New Testament church planting model.

The Challenge

We face a mind boggling challenge—we could put a pastor and his team into just about any community in the United States and find people who need Jesus… if we had the men and the resources. “Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, that they are white for harvest.” John 4:35
